Battle ready: TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu blowing a conch marking the launch of election campaign at Dornakal in Warangal district on Wednesday. DORNAKAL (WARANGAL DT.): Reiterating the TDP’s stand on separate Telangana, party president N. Chandrababu Naidu said the party had constituted a committee to study the issue by holding discussions with a cross section of people. “We will take a decision on the issue after the committee gives its findings,” he said, addressing a gathering on entering the district as part of his ‘Mee Kosam’ tour. He formally launched the campaign for byelections in the region and asked people to vote for TDP if they want to put an end to their woes. SopsBeing in the tribal belt of the district, Mr. Naidu showered promises on people and vowed to give Rs. 500 pension to elders, 50 units of free power to households, increased hours of power supply in rural areas, declare tribal hamlet with 500 population as panchayat, set up an organisation like ITDA for tribals living in plain areas, set up an exclusive tribal university to preserve their culture and heritage. The TDP leader said byelections were forced on people by the TRS. “Both the TRS and Congress jointly contested the elections and are now blaming each other of deceiving. Both of them deceived the people ultimately,” he said. At Dornakal, the TDP leader, who was scheduled to arrive at 9.30 a.m., came two hours behind schedule. En route to Maripeda and Thorrur, people greeted Mr. Naidu and offered ‘tilak’. E. Dayakar Rao, contesting for Warangal parliamentary seat, and other leaders – Kadiam Srihari, R. Prakash Reddy, legislator V. Narender Reddy were among those present.
