THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A protest meeting was held under the aegis of the Protection Council before the Railway Divisional Office here on Wednesday demanding the retention of the Railway Construction Chief Engineer’s Office in Thiruvananthapuram. It was addressed by Kadakampally Surendran, district secretary of the CPI(M), R. Selvaraj, MLA, S.S.Potti, district secretary of the CITI, and Chala Mohanan, councillor, among others. The Protection Council also submitted a memorandum urging the Railway authorities to desist from any move to shift the office to S.P.Vatsa, Additional Member (Works) of the Railway Board, who is here to monitor the progress of the development activities of the Railways here. — Special Correspondent
