Juvenile home inmates held on murder charges

COIMBATORE: A 13-year old inmate of a juvenile home here died of injuries allegedly caused by fellow inmates.

The Coimbatore City Police have registered a case against six inmates of the Juvenile Observation Home on Avanashi Road. According to the police, Mubarak Ali, a “street child,” was lodged in the home on May 3 after he was found roaming in the Gandhipuram area. On Tuesday afternoon, he complained of stomach pain and threw up. He was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, treated as outpatient. The boy again complained of stomach pain and started vomiting in the evening. He was admitted to the CMCH in the evening and was under treatment.
