International meet on rubber begins today

KOCHI: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Vayalar Ravi will inaugurate a two-day international conference on ‘Natural rubber extension and development’ here on Thursday. The conference is being organised as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Rubber Board’s extension and development schemes, said a press release here on Wednesday. About 600 delegates from different parts of the country and abroad are expected to participate in the conference. Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran will release the logo for Indian natural rubber and release a book ‘Rubber Karshakarkkoru Kaipusthakam.’
