Competition still open: Ganguly

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: Sourav Ganguly does not discount the chances of Kolkata Knight Riders in the DLF IPL Twenty20 competition.

“But for Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, none of the teams is too far ahead of the rest. Every other team is capable of catching up at this stage of the tournament,” said Ganguly during the pre-match press conference here on Wednesday. “Look at the way Chennai Super Kings began. Now it has lost its momentum.” He admitted pressure was part and parcel of the game. Ganguly stressed the fact that teams needed to experiment a bit. “Playing in the same way means the results will also be the same. A team needs to back itself with whoever it has. ” he said.

On captaining in this format, Ganguly said that everything was quick. “The games are faster, one needs to think faster and if one is not alert enough then the game will get over quickly,” he said.
