JAIPUR: Former Rajasthan Chief Secretary M. L. Mehta has been appointed Chairman of the Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation established recently to develop efficient and skilled human resources for information technology and IT-enabled services in the State. The appointment was announced at the Knowledge Corporation’s first board meeting organised here. The Corporation has been set up as a joint venture of the Rajasthan Government and the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation. While the Corporation’s sanctioned capital is Rs.5 crore, its paid-up capital is Rs.2 crore, which includes the share capital of the State Government and the Maharashtra Corporation amounting to 30 per cent each. An official release here said the institutions having the share capital of 10 per cent each in the company were Rajasthan University, Jaipur; Maharana Pratap Agricultural University, Uaipur; and Vardhaman Mahavir Open University, Kota. The roleThe Corporation is meant to evolve a knowledge-based economy in the State by providing employment-oriented training to the youths, besides making institutional arrangements for candidates willing to serve in various fields of IT-enabled services.
