Notices to bar associations

Faizabad: The Allahabad High Court has issued notices to Lucknow, Faizabad and Barabanki bar associations for allegedly preventing lawyers from defending the suspects in the serial blasts that rocked Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi district courts last year.

Taking cognisance of the writ petition filed by a suspect, Mohammad Tariq Qasmi, the High Court has issued notices to the bar associations asking them to file their replies before the court by May 22, Faizabad Bar Association Secretary Mansur Ilahi told PTI.
