Mobile information

GSM : Global System for Mobile communications sends and receives phone calls. Based onTime Division Multiple Access technology, it divides radio frequency into time slots, which are allotted to multiple calls or users.

SIM : A removable chip in GSM phones. Stores user information, contacts, messages etc. Being a removable chip, it allows the user to switch mobile phones.

CDMA : Code Division Multiple Access phones do not assign radio frequencies to users. Full spectrum is given to user, meaning it slows connectivity.

Dead or Black spot: An area or a region where the cell phone does not receive or can send signals properly. A region where the cell phone signal is not strong enough to reach the cell tower or vice-versa.
