All set for EAMCET today

Nearly 23,000 students to appear for test at 51 centres


Arrangements made for uninterrupted supply of power, water

Prohibitory orders under Sec. 144 clamped near test centres


VISAKHAPATNAM: Nearly 23,000 candidates will appear for the Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) 2008 to be held at 51 centres in the city on Thursday.

In all 3,000 candidates have applied for the medicine and agriculture test to be held at eight centres while the rest are for the engineering course test, which will be held in 43 centres. The engineering test will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the medicine and agriculture test from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The district officials have made arrangements for uninterrupted supply of water and power at all examination centres while the police have imposed ban orders under Section144 around all the centres to ensure smooth conduct of EAMCET. The APSRTC is running special buses for the convenience of candidates from different places.

Free buses

Principal of GVP College of Engineering, Madhurawada N.S.V.V.S.J. Gandhi informed that free buses were being arranged from Madhurawada and Kommadi for candidates appearing for EAMCET at the GVP College of Engineering.
