Traffic diversion for EAMCET

VIJAYAWADA: Special parking lots have been arranged at all the 48 centres in the city where the EAMCET-2008 will be held on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police (CP) K.V. Rajendranath Reddy said in a statement on Wednesday that the parents of students appearing for the engineering stream of the test should leave the centre immediately after completion of the examination, so that students coming in for the medicine stream in the afternoon would not face any traffic congestion.

Announcing a few traffic regulations from 7 a.m. on Thursday for the benefit of the students, he said traffic would be regulated till the test was over in the evening.

Lorries and transport vehicles coming from Benz Circle and going towards Kankipadu would be diverted via Nirmala Convent, Government ITI, Mahanadu Road, Ramavarappadu, Prasadampadu, Nidamanuru and Poranki.

Vehicles coming from Machilipatnam and Bhimavaram to the city would be diverted at Kankipadu and they would have to move towards Uppuluru and Kesarapalli.

Parents of the students appearing for the engineering stream in the morning session at V.R. Siddhardha Engineering College would have to go towards Tadigadapa, Kanuru and Mahanadu junction.

CP’s plea

Mr. Reddy also appealed to students who stay in hostels and appear for the engineering stream to leave their hostels for their native places only after 3 p.m.
