Developer can’t regularise unsold plots
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Government has decided not to allow regularisation of unsold plots by a developer still owning them.
This decision was taken after senior officials of the Municipal and Urban Ddevelopment department reviewed the ongoing Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS), whose deadline was extended till May 31.
Layout pattern and land use would be frozen for unsold plots and the owner or developer has to apply as a fresh layout for the unsold portion, thereafter pay the requisite fees. With regard to some layouts lacking basic infrastructure like roads, water supply, power, sewerage etc., such works are to be taken up by the local body concerned once more than 50 per cent of plots of a particular layout are regularised.
The Government has also stated that layout applications for plots covered by the draft plan for the one kilometre ‘Growth Corridor’ belt on either side of ORR can also be regularised. Since there are no legal issues with layouts regularisation, officials were directed to concentrate on the new growth areas to attract applications.
