Bangalore: The Lokayukta police continued to search for the city police inspector who has been accused of demanding bribe from a person to close two cases relating to a domestic dispute. The sleuths are hopeful of catching him soon enough. The Lokayukta police said P. Ramakrishna, inspector of Mahalakshmi Layout Police Station, had demanded Rs. 10,000 from Suresh to close the cases filed by his wife and himself. There was a fight between Suresh’s wife and mother recently in which the latter was reportedly beaten and admitted to hospital. The hospital registered a medico-legal case and forwarded it to the jurisdictional Mahalakshmi Layout police station. Suresh’s wife filed a counter case of harassment against Suresh and his mother. When Suresh sought to close the case, Mr. Ramakrishna allegedly demanded Rs. 10,000 and told him to hand over the money to police constable Narayanagowda. The Lokayukta police recorded the conversation between Suresh and Mr. Ramakrishna and planned to trap the official. On Tuesday, Lokayukta sleuths caught Narayanagowda while he was allegedly receiving the bribe near the police station.
