TIRUPUR: The Central Crime Branch Police on Tuesday registered a case against eight persons for allegedly cheating a garment factory owner of over Rs. 3 crore by producing fake vouchers and documents.

Police said A. Senthil Kumar of Ram Nagar and owner of Gathambari Garments lodged a complaint against eight persons, including a close relative, for alleged misappropriation. Following continued loss, Mr. Kumar said he verified records. By creating false payment vouchers, double entry of wages and other fraudulent means, the accused had misappropriated funds, he said.
