Two arrested

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore city police on Wednesday arrested two persons and have launched a hunt for a kingpin in the gold coin scandal scheme. According to police, firm at Selvapuram reportedly run by a Salem-based entrepreneur had deceived investors by promising to provide gold coins.
Velayutham and seven others had preferred a complaint with crime branch police stating that they were deceived to a tune of Rs. 32,700 each for gold coins and commission.
Based on complaints, the police have arrested Kannan (26) and Sivakumar (30) of Selvapuram area while a hunt has been launched for Praveen of Salem who is said to have run this firm as franchisee for a Chennai-based firm.
