MCC for only traditional bat handles

Melbourne: Tired of watching bowlers frustrated and look like mere bowling machines, the Marylebone Cricket Club will call for restricting batsmen’s power by prohibiting use of any other bat handles than the traditional ones made of rubber, cane and glue.

Of late, handles have featured graphite, titanium and carbon but the head of the Marylebone Cricket Club laws committee, John Stephenson feels the change will limit the advantage batsmen enjoy with streamlined bats, placid pitches and shorter boundaries, the Herald Sun reported. — PTI
