Naveen scalps five

Chennai: M. Naveen took five wickets to help Singarampillay CA to an eight-wicket win over MAS CA in the Singarampillay under-14 cricket tournament.

The scores: Prahlad CA 187 in 29.5 overs (Mukunth 79, M. Adithya 28) bt Ebenezer CA 85 for nine in 30 overs (L. Ganeshlingam 26, M. Harish 25 n.o.); MAS CA 81 in 27.3 overs (M. Naveen five for 15) lost to Singarampillay CA 82 for two in 12.3 overs.

Two-wheeler races

To encourage motor sports and unearth fresh talent, a special edition of two-wheeler races will be held at Madras Motor Race Track, Irrungattukottai, on May 10 and 11 in the TVS Race-a-bike scheme with new bikes and the Newcomers Races. Newcomers will race in Group ‘B’, 160cc 4-stroke, 210cc 4-stroke and 150cc 2-stroke classes.

Those who had won or were placed in the top three in any championship of any class or group of bikes are not eligible. Entry forms are available at the club office at 123/1, T.T.K. Road , Alwarpet. Ph: 2499 0998.
