An honour: Ramachandran

CHENNAI: “It’s an honour and I hope to live up to the expectations.”

This is how N. Ramachandran, Secretary, Squash Rackets Federation of India, reacted to his nomination as advisor for marketing to the ad hoc committee formed by the Indian Olympic Association for governing hockey in the country.

Ramachandran thanked the IOA for the confidence reposed in him, and assured that he would strive hard to uplift the image of hockey.

He was happy that hockey had been recently upgraded again as a priority sport.

“Since hockey is our national sport, it is the duty of every citizen to give his best to ensure that the country regains its lost glory,” he said. — Special Correspondent
