KADAPA: Andhra Pradesh Electricity Employees Union (No. 1104) on Thursday deplored issue of a fresh notification for appointment of 7,114 junior linemen on contract basis and demanded that junior linemen working on low pay since 15 years should not be removed at any cost. The union members staged lunch-hour demonstrations before Transco offices all over Kadapa district demanding continuation of the services of junior linemen. The High Court directed removal of 7,114 junior linemen appointed in the four Discoms and issue a fresh notification in view of lapses in the notification, union’s State vice-president K. Prabhudas, regional secretary J. Subbaramaiah, divisional president M.K. Dhanunjayan and divisional secretary P. Jayaramulu said. They demanded that the management move the Supreme Court .
