KOCHI: International Red Cross Day was observed in Kochi, with speakers expressing concern at global climate changes that have been causing a whole lot of natural disasters. The theme of this year’s observance was ‘Work together to combat climate change’. Fisheries Minister S. Sarma was the chief guest at a function organised at Red Cross Bhavan in Kakkanad. The chairman of the Coir Board A. C. Jose inaugurated Help Age India-sponsored physiotherapy and home nursing project at the Bhavan. District Collector M. Beena released a brochure on the services offered by Red Cross in Kochi. K. Babu, MLA presided. Joseph K. Palikkapilly, honorary secretary of the society and the regional director of Help Age India, Indrani Rajadorai spoke.
