‘Release funds at the earliest’

Staff Reporter

TIRUPUR: K. Subbarayan, MP, on Thursday asked the Chief Minister to lead a delegation comprising people’s representatives and industry leaders to meet the Prime Minister seeking early release of grant for the common effluent recycling plants being established by dyeing units here.

A total of 20 common effluent recycling plants put up jointly by dyeing and bleaching factories here were coming up at a cost of over Rs. 800 crore to attain zero effluent discharge, he told reporters here.

Establishment of these recycling plants are nearing a final stage and the dyeing factory owners are now in a bad need of grant from the Centre and State Government.
