NREGP implementation lauded

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five major steps taken by the State government for implementin the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP) in backward districts has come in for praise at a workshop in Mussourie.

Minister for Local Self-government Paloli Mohammed Kutty said in a press note here on Wednesday that distribution of wages through banks, implementation exclusively through grama panchayats, etc., will be emulated by other States too. The workshop lauded the State government for implementing the programme in a creditable manner braving hostile conditions.
