Loyola Institute of Technology and Science

With the goal to produce World Class Engineers and Managers, a set of Alumni and Beneficiaries of Jesuit Institutions have joined together and registered a Trust in the name of the Founder of Jesuit Order, St. Loyola. It was this Jesuit Order which popularized education in the southern districts of Tamilnadu especially in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Madurai.

The trio, Dr. A.E. Muthunayagam, first Vice Chancellor of Karunya University, former Secretary to Govt. of India and present Chairman of IIT board, Prof. Thomas Joseph, former Vice Principal of Karunya Institute of Technology and Director of School of Electrical Sciences of Karunya University and Dr. M.T. Nicholas, former Principal, who led Karunya Institute of Technology to a greater height and fame, are the people running the Loyola Institute of Technology and Science. Very eminent personalities like Rev. Fr. Dr. N. Casimir Raj, S.J Founder Director of LIBA and at present Director of XLRI and Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Xavier, S.J former Principal of Loyola College, Chennai and Mr.A.L.Sekar, General Manager, L&T, serve as Governing Council Members.

Prof. M.T. Nicholas who served ISRO for 28 years meritoriously and Karunya Institute of Technology, Coimbatore for 6 glorious years is the Principal and Managing Trustee of this institution. He has the vision to build a Bio – Medical Technology Centre linking the Medical and Engineering disciplines in the next 10 years.

Two promises are made by the Principal and his faculty colleagues.

To make this an English Speaking Campus so that every one – Students, Faculty, Non – Teaching Staff (parents exempted) will be speaking English in this campus.

To provide 100% assured placement for all Loyolites by exposing them to the Placement Mela, conducted on a monthly basis and by rigorous training by the Loyola Institute of Placement and Training (LIPT) a sister concern of LITES. LIPT will be the coaching centre for the students who have deficiency in spoken English, Maths and Computer Literacy by providing bridge courses to cope up with the first B.E requirements.
