Realtors hail Pinarayi’s stance

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India, Thiruvananthapuram, (CREDAI-Thiruvananthapuram), the apex body of builders in the capital city, has welcomed the view of State Secretary of the CPI(M), Pinarayi Vijayan, on the issue of ‘nokkukoolie.’

President of the organisation S.N. Raghuchandran Nair said here on Thursday that ‘nokkukoolie’ had been a lethal weapon in the hands of all trade unions to extort money from the public, that too for doing nothing. Even the Labour Department could not find a solution. Attempts by the public, the industry and the government to resist this practice were met by the muscle power of the trade unions. It was at this juncture that Mr. Vijayan came forward with his observation, nailing the trade unions, leading to an outburst against them from many. He said that CREDAI, Thiruvananthapuram, had taken a unanimous decision to support Mr. Vijayan’s stance and had advised its members to immediately stop such payments, if any, especially during the usage of ready-mix concrete (RMC) at their sites.
