Bush criticised
Special Correspondent
CUDDALORE: To register its protest against the uncharitable remarks made by U.S. President George W. Bush on the food habits of Indians, the Centre should cease from signing any agreement with the U.S., the executive secretary of Cuddalore District Consumer Protection Organisation, M.Nizamudeen, has said.
He also sent a representation addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The consumer forum pointed out that Mr. Bush’s attempt to portray Indians as gluttons and whose increased consumption level had led to the global food crisis deserved utmost condemnation.
The forum noted that as a mark of protest, the Centre should recall its envoy from the U.S. and urge Mr. Bush to tender a public apology.
