Government’s assistance for pilot project

PANAJI: The Goa Government will lend assistance to south Goa-based technical educational institute Agnel Ashram to undertake a pilot project for treating wet waste.

Goa Minister for Environment Alex Sequeira said on Wednesday that the Government had identified the equipment (organic waste converter) for the purpose which would entail an investment of Rs. 7 lakh.

With the tourist coastal State confronted with perennial problem of solid waste disposal, the Environment Ministry was happy to find a partner to take up a project, the Minister said.
