Woman naxal’s body found

KORAPUT: The body of a woman naxalite, who was killed in a joint operation of SOG and STF from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh in Sikalova reserve forest area on the boarders near Bandhugaon in Koraput district, was recovered from the forest on Thursday.

She was identified as Nirmala alias Pidika Hiryani, from Nilakanthapuram in Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, Deepak Kumar, the SP of Koraput said. Police had also recovered 8 kit bags, 2 SBLs and one SLR from the spot. In another incident Laxmidhar Murmu, an SOG jawan from Malkngiri district was critically injured in a cross fire with the naxalites in Badigeta forests under Kalimela police station on Thursday. He was later air lifted in a helicopter to Visakhapatnam.
