Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Three unidentified persons attacked a real estate agent at Sundarayya Nagar in the early hours of Thursday and ran away with his bank ATM card and car. The car was found on the roadside in Eluru in the evening.

According to the Payakapuram police, Tataparthi Rambabu, 40, knocked the door of his neighbour and corporator Muripala Satyavathi around 2.30 a.m. and told her that three miscreants injured him and robbed his house. He gave his wife’s phone number to Ms. Satyavathi and collapsed. He was rushed to a private hospital. A case was registered.

In another case, the Anti-Goonda Squad (AGS) on Thursday arrested 10 persons on the charge of carrying out betting over the Indian Premier League cricket matches.

The police raided a house near Govindarajulu fish market on Besant Road on a tip-off and found the persons carrying out betting by watching the matches in a television. The police seized from them Rs.69,756 and nine mobile phones.
