MALAPPURAM: Two brothers from West Bengal, both labourers engaged in the construction of a house at Pulikkal in Malappuram district, have been found murdered. The body of the younger brother, Ranjan Biswas, 26, was found in a sack on Wednesday. His elder brother Gogan Biswas’s body was recovered by the police on Thursday. Both the bodies had wounds of assault. Police said the brothers belonged to Milanpalli in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. They, along with several other Bengalis, were constructing a house for Mujeeb Rahman on Andhiyoor Kunnu Road at Pulikkal near Kondotty. Ranjan’s body was found in a sack hidden beneath the staircase of the house under construction. His Bengali co-workers, including his brother Gogan, were missing. Gogan’s body was found buried inside the same house on Thursday when an investigation team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police K.K. Ibrahim searched the place. Police said the murder of the siblings must have taken place at the same time. The brothers were staying with their Bengali friends. The bodies were identified by a team of Bengali labourers who came from Kozhikode. The police have launched a hunt for the missing Bengali workers.
