The Mayor ordered the immediate closure of a fast food stall


CHENNAI: A total of 41 shops, including fruit juice shops, tender coconut stalls and tea shops, were removed from the Velachery Main Road and the Race Course Road, following an inspection of the area by Mayor M. Subramanian on Wednesday.The Mayor had taken up inspection of the Velachery area and ordered the immediate closure of a fast food stall that was serving food in an unhygienic manner, according to a release.

He further instructed officials to remove encroachments on the footpath flanking the Velachery Main Road and the Race Course Road.
