‘Governor’s action motivated’

Special Correspondent

Kolkata: Voluntary power cuts for an hour in the morning and again in the evening were observed at Raj Bhavan for the second day on Thursday following a decision by the Governor, Gopalkrishna Gandhi, that it should not be an exception to the city’s power supply situation.

Shyamal Chakravarty, central committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), described it as “motivated” and said the Governor’s “office was being used against the Left Front in West Bengal.”

Trinamool Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee, also decided that her residence in the city will observe a two-hour voluntary power cut in the evenings beginning Friday.
