Raid at illegal cracker units

KASARAGOD: A team of police on Friday conducted raids at illegal cracker manufacturing units in the district and seized explosives. Explosives were recovered from the premises of the home of Fraooq, a resident of Arikkady in the district. The police said Mr. Farooq did not have licence to manufacture explosives. The police conducted a search at his property at Manjeswar also. They conducted raids at several places in Kelugudde near Kasaragod town. The police had received complaints that several illegal cracker manufacturing units were functioning in the district and they had not implemented requisite safety norms.
