Girls outperform boys in Plus Two exam

In Krishnagiri district, 13 schools register 100 per cent pass

Krishnagiri: Girls outshine boys once again in the Plus Two examination in Krishnagiri district by securing a pass percentage of 78 per cent when compared with boys who secured 73 per cent.

Out of 12,166 students who appeared for the examinations, 9,166 passed with the overall pass percentage of 75 per cent.

Among the 6,100 boys, 4,423 passed while among the 6,066 girls, 4,743 passed the examination.

Out of 107 higher secondary schools in the district, 13 schools obtained 100 per cent pass. Interestingly all of them are private matriculation higher secondary schools.

First rank

P. Ramya of Sri Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Uthangarai secured the first rank in the district with a total of 1,176 marks out of 1,200.

She obtained 100 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, 198 in Mathematics, 191 in Tamil and 187 in English.

R. Navaudayam and E. Ramkumar of Sri Vidya Mandir HSS, Uthangarai share the second rank with 1,174 marks out of 1,200.

M. Mahalakshmi of Sri Vidya Mandir HSS, Uthangarai came third by securing 1,173 out of 1,200.

She obtained 100 per cent in Physics and Biology, 194 in Chemistry, 199 in Mathematics, 191 in Tamil and 189 in English.

Out of 11,618 students who appeared for the examinations in Dharmapuri district, 9,318 passed with an overall pass percentage of 79.72. Among the 6,302 boys, 4,944 passed while out of 5,386 girls, 4,374 passed.

D.S. Manasapriya of Senthil Matric HSS, Dharmapuri secured the first rank in the district with a total of 1,173 marks out of 1,200.

She obtained 100 per cent in Mathematics, 199 in Physics and Chemistry, 196 in Computer Science, 194 in Tamil and 185 in English.

V. Vivek and P. Arivazhagan of Vijay Vidyalaya HSS secured the second and third ranks with 1,170 and 1,168 marks respectively.
