Man dies as boat capsizes

PANAJI: One person died and two were rescued after a speedboat capsized at Colva on Friday.

Tamiulla Khatib (35) from Masur-Haveri died, while Ismail Harpanalli (40) from Davangere and Khalil Dhaitay (18) from Margao in South Goa were rescued and later admitted in Auspicio Hospital , the police said.

A lifeguard with the help of local people rushed to the rescue of the victims after the incident.

The police said that the driver of the boat was missing. Khatib and a few others from Karnataka were in Margao to attend a wedding ceremony.
