Toppers all: Vijay Prasanth.V, Charusree.T, S.Chidambaram, Rathan Vignesh, Sharadha.S and D.Preeti. — COIMBATORE: Medicine and engineering continue to be the most sought-after career choices of the district Plus Two toppers. S.Sharadha of Avila Convent, who bagged the second rank in the district with French as first language, wants to pursue MBBS. “It has been my all-time ambition,” she says. Her idea about education does not end with text books. “It is the age of information, and students should do a lot of extra reading,” she adds. V.Vijay Prasanth plans to pursue his engineering in Chennai. “The opportunities are greater in Chennai as it gives students wider career options,” he says further. Electronics and Communications Engineering is his preferred branch. He is the district topper with Tamil as the first language from SRSI Matriculation School, Karamadai. D.Preeti of Avila Convent, who bagged the third rank in the district with French as the first language, says French helped her in scoring as much as 1,180. She had been going for extra coaching in Mathematics and plans to go in for engineering. Charusree.T from GRG Matriculation Higher Secondary School too plans to do engineering. But, her ambition does not end with that. “I want to become the ambassador for the country,” she says. She bagged the second rank in the district with Tamil as the first language. P.Pranesh of Suburban Matriculation Higher Secondary School has topped the State in Accountancy, Economics and Business Mathematics. “I didn’t go in for extra coaching. I revised my lessons at home daily,” he says.
