Man gets seven years in jail
New Delhi: A court here has sentenced a man to seven years imprisonment for making a bid on the life of a vehicle owner with a master key in an attempt to rob him of his car last year.
“If the master key is held in a fist and fist is given on the chest just above the heart, it is capable of causing a puncture in the heart and can thereby cause death of he victim,” Additional Session Judge S C Malik said while rejecting leniency plea of the convict Salim Khan.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs.3,000 on the convict after holding him guilty under various provisions of the IPC. During the arguments, Khan had claimed that he was implicated in the case, alleging that the Maruti van owner had owed some money to him as he had repaired his vehicle. On March 17 last year, a case was registered with Mayur Vihar police station on a complaint of victim Vikram Kapoor.
