Land for wives of officials cancelled

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Samskruthi, an organisation established by wives of government officers through Civil Service Society, faced the wrath of the Cabinet.

At a meeting here on Friday, the Cabinet took serious note over Samkruthi’s failure to use 13.25 acres of land allotted to it at Malkajgiri here to establish a school.

The meeting, therefore, cancelled the allotment and re-allotted the same to AP Housing Board with the instruction to use it for construction of Indiramma houses for the poor.

The meeting resolved to distribute tank-bed lands of Gopasagaram and Batrajubanda in Vizianagaram district to the displaced families of Thotapalli Barrage as house-sites.

The Cabinet also cleared proposals to appoint 20 professors/associate professors on regular basis, and 102 others through outsourcing for King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam, and 14 professors for SVIMS, Tirupati.
