A good number of people enjoyed witnessing the obedience tests and speciality shows 
Ready: Dogs lined up for the obedience tests in Udhagamandalam on Friday. Udhagamandalam: With obedience tests for dogs brought from various parts of the country conducted by the South of India Kennel Club the curtain went up on a three-day dog show on the Government Arts College ground here on Friday. With the venue wearing a colourful look and the weather being visitor-friendly a good number of people enjoyed witnessing the obedience tests and the speciality shows organised alongside by the Coimbatore chapter of the German Shepherd Dog Club of India, the Indian Boxer Club and the Labrador Retriever Club of India. Some of the tourists told The Hindu that they had planned their trip to this hill station in such a manner that they would be able to witness the dogs shows. The resultsObedience Tests: Beginner: 1.Retriever bitch Flory owned by Southern Railway, 2.Dobermann Pinscher Dog Sultan owned by Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force and 3.German Shepherd Dog Benji owned by Inspector General of Police, Coimbatore. Graduate: 1.German Shepherd Dog Bhogadisplero owned by Southern Railway, Chennai and 2.Dobermann Pinscher Sultan. Open: 1.Retriever bitch Sweety of Alavai owned by S.V.Moorthy, Madurai, 2.German Shepherd Dog Rana owned by Southern Railway, Chennai, and 3.Jackrussel Terrier Jeenu owned by M.Prakash Batt, Secunderabad. Companion Dog: 1.German Shepherd Dog Rana, 2.Retriever bitch Tomey Classic owned by Southern Railway and 3.German Shepherd Dog Benji. A cash prize in memory of former president, SIKC, N.P.Cooper, was given to Bhogadisplero. Speciality (Boxer): 1.Ch.Lucas D De La Garza owned by Agrani Kennels, 2.Ch.Lazy Nine Crimson and Chrome owned by Edwin Manohar and A.Stephen and 3.Ch.Elharlen Quente owned by V.Deepak. Speciality (Labrador): 1.Ch.Greatlands Latin Dancer (Imported dog) owned by A.P.Sreekumar, 2.Rayon (bred in India dog) owned by Balasaheb Kadalage and 3.Jatin’s Samo at Firecrest (bred in India dog) owned by M.Cassun Best Puppy: Plain (bred in India dog) owned by Chandrakant Magdum. Best bred in India exhibit: Rayon.
