Veeraraghavan in lead

BANGALORE: Tarun Veeraraghavan grabbed the lead in Category ‘A’ (15-17 years) on the opening day of the KGA South Zone junior golf which commenced here on Friday.

Veeraraghavan submitted a card of nine-over 81 to take the lead in the two-day event, the fourth leg of the South Zone circuit. I.L. Aalaap of Mysore was two strokes behind the leader, while local lad Trishul Chinnappa was a further stroke behind in the third place. Vashista S. Pawar (86) took a one-stroke lead over Sarhan Italia in Category ‘B’ (13-14 years).

The scores (after 18 holes): Category ‘A’ (15-17 years): 81 Tarun Veeraraghavan; 83 I.L. Aalaap; 84 Trishul Chinnappa; 85 Ali Akmal Jan; 86 Vashista S. Pawar. Category ‘B’ (13-14): 86 Vashista S.
