Koothanda advances

PONNAMPET: Koothanda and Kaliyanda teams entered the semifinals of the 12th Kodava Hockey Festival with narrow victories in the quarterfinal played at the Junior College Grounds, Ponnampet, on Friday. Koothanda beat Nellamakada 2-1 with Santosh Kallaiah (18th and 45th) scoring both goals for the winner and Manju (50th), scoring for the loser.

In the second quarter-final, Kaliyanda beat Mandepanda 1-0 with Amith notching up the match winner in the 60th minute.
