BERHAMPUR: The children’s theater troupes are enthralling the audience at the week long State-level drama festival continuing at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district. This drama festival organised by Kalahandi Kalkar Sangh will end on April 11. Although this competitive drama festival was meant for amateur theater troupes from all over the State, yet as an experiment some children’s theater troupes were also allowed to perform in this festival. Member of the organising committee of the festival, Satyanarayan Mohapatra, said four children’s theater troupes are participating in this festival. These troupes comprise of artistes of below 14 years of age. “It is homage to the great theater personality, Prafulla Kumar Ratha in whose memory this drama festival is being organised”, said Mr. Mohapatra as he always promoted acting as hobby among the small children. The plays enacted by these children’s troupes involved much experimentation, which even impressed the judges of the competition.
