CUTTACK: An attempt to loot a jewellery shop in Cuttack by some seven dacoits was foiled by a strong resistance from the shop owners on Friday afternoon. The dacoits escaped from the scene after people came but injured a shop owner. The incident took place at Hari Om jewellery shop at Nayasarak. at 2.30 p.m. The dacoits entered into the shop brandishing pistols and ‘bhujali’ when the shop owner Dilip Kumar Soni and his younger brother were inside. Seeing the commotion inside the shop, some locals rushed to the spot. But the dacoits escaped on their motorcycles.
