Scholarships given to disabled students

BANGALORE: The Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation handed over the SSC Merit Reward and Undergraduate Scholarship to the five meritorious disabled students who aced the Karnataka State board examinations for 2006-2007 at the Shikshakara Bhavan here on Friday.

The foundation became operational in 1996 in Goa, Maharashtra and Diu and Daman, and then expanded countrywide by 2000. M. Rama Jois, former Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as chief guest, gave away the awards.

P.R. Parthasarthy, former DGP, Maharashtra, addressed the gathering.
