Tumkur: D.C. Gowrishankar, Janata Dal (S) candidate from Madhugiri, and his supporters staged a “dharna” in front of the police station at Badavanahalli in Madhugiri taluk on Friday and protested against laxity of the election authorities. Mr. Gowrishankar said a few boys were seen distributing copies of Bangalore Voice, a tabloid, in some villages of the taluk. The tabloid had printed stories against him and his father and former Minister, C. Channigappa. He said that it amounted to the violation of the model code of conduct. — Staff Correspondent
