‘Congress cannot bring Karnataka to Gujarat level’

Vote-bank politics of Congress is destroying the country: Modi

CHIKMAGALUR: Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi has said that the results of the Assembly elections in Karnataka will be a pointer to the political future of the country.

While addressing a public meeting in Koppa on Thursday, Mr. Modi expressed concern that terrorist activities in certain parts of the world had links in Karnataka.

Accusing the Union Government of lacking the political will to curb terrorism and naxal activities, Mr. Modi said the vote bank politics of the Congress party was destroying the country.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was the only party capable of providing a stable government and developing the State.

He said Congress party leaders, who were criticising Gujarat, were not capable of bringing Karnataka on a par with Gujarat.

The BJP candidate D.N. Jeevaraj and former Minister D.H. Shankarmurthy were among those present at the meeting.
