Airport advisory panel meet held

VISAKHAPATNAM: MP and Chairman of the Airport Advisory Committee N. Janardhan Reddy has directed the State Irrigation Department to complete the flood control measures like dredging works to divert the Megadri gedda and Konda gedda course before the onset of monsoon. At the committee meeting held on Friday, he also advised the Airport Authority of India to complete the new terminal complex by August this year.
He promised to take up the matter of airport operations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and subsequently for 24-hour operations with the Defence Ministry.
He advised the Area Marketing Manager of Air India to take up the matter of re-introducing AI flight to Chennai as passengers were facing a lot of inconvenience.
Responding to requests from members, Mr. Janardhan Reddy promised to take up the matter of introduction of international flights to and from Vizag with the authorities concerned.
Airport Controller C. Pattabhi, Advisory Committee members S.V. Adinarayana, Kasim S. Mehdi, B. Swami and K. Vasudeva Rao, and Station Manager and Representative of Airline Operators Committee Rajasekharan attended.
