‘We have not received postal ballots’

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Many polling staff complained that they have not been given postal ballots. “We were assured of ballots on May 7 when we all attended a meeting. But when we went there we were told that it would be issued to us today, which did not happen. I fear losing my right to vote,” said Prakash M., who works for Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) and has been deputed as polling officer at Devarajeevanahalli in Pulikeshinagar Assembly constituency. The police personnel posted at the polling booths too complained of not having received the postal ballots. Some polling staff said they did not get time to see the electoral roll and submit applications for the postal ballot.
