BMIC: decisions withdrawn

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The State Government on Friday withdrew the decisions it had taken on the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) Project following a direction from the Election Commission.

The State Government, following a decision taken by the Executive Committee headed by Governor Rameshwar Thakur, had initiated steps to hand over certain portions of land to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), which is executing the BMIC Project. The Election Commission had taken a serious note of this decision, and had said that it was a violation of the election code of conduct.

A Government Order issued on Friday said: “Pursuant to the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Government Order dated April 30 has been withdrawn with immediate effect.”
