Four city tourists die in Himachal Pradesh

Bangalore: Four Bangaloreans died and three were injured when their hired vehicle fell into a 250-ft gorge near Waknaghat, 10 km from Kandaghat in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, on Friday.
The police identified the dead as K.C. Natarajan, Nalini, nine-year-old Manisha and Manju Prasad, all residents of BEML Complex in Rajarajeshwarinagar.
The other occupants of the vehicle — Nikhil (son of Manju Prasad and Nalini), Kalavathi and driver Nasir — have been admitted at the Solan District Hospital and PGI Hospital in Chandigarh.
Himachal Pradesh police said it was not yet clear if they all belonged to the same family or were tourists in a group.
Speaking to The Hindu, a police spokesperson said there were members of two families in the vehicle of which two died on the spot, one on the way to hospital and the other at the hospital.
The accident occurred when they were returning to Chandigarh from Shimla. The police are yet to get the details of the injured. Relatives of the victims may contact the Kandaghat police station on Ph: 01792-256229.
