‘Swarna Sanjivani’ award for Prafulla Kar

Rourkela: Eminent singer and music director Prafulla Kar will be presented ‘Swarna Sanjivani’ award at a public function here on May 19, 2008 for his contribution to the field of music in Orissa.

The award is presented to eminent persons for their contribution in the field of song, music and culture of Orissa by Swarna Sanjivani, a cultural organisation. The organisation will organise a three-day cultural fest from May 17 in which State-level song competition would be held with an aim to make talent hunt. About 500 participants from various parts of the State will take part in the competition, according to its secretary and eminent singer, Binoy Mohanty. - PTI
