PUDUCHERRY: It was fun and frolic at the SOS Children’s Village at Pillaiyarkuppam on Saturday. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the children danced to the tunes of various songs, and recited poems for their SOS mothers. The mothers, too, had great fun, playing games and dancing with the children. To make the day memorable for mothers, children exchanged roles and took up the responsibility of household work, while mothers indulged themselves in fun-filled activities. A total of 27 SOS mothers were felicitated by Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Malathy Kalaivaradan for their efforts at shaping the future of children growing up in the village. Lauding the efforts of SOS mothers, S. Sandilya, president, SOS Children’s Villages of India, said: “Yours is the most difficult, but pleasurable, role of bringing up so many children in your lifetime.”
